GMA and the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce partnered several years ago to offer the Small Business Retailer of the Year presented at the annual Small Business Luncheon.

The Small Business Retailer of the Year Award is selected by the Business Support Council and chosen from nominations that come from all over the community.  Nominations for the Retailer of the Year are solicited from Chamber and GMA member firms, as well as asking the community for retailers whom met the following criteria:
Own or operate a small business as defined by having fewer than 100 employees
Have an established and viable business
Show growth in employees and or sales volume
Respond to adversity
Be involved in community service

The nomination deadline is in late spring. Past recipients include:

The Arts in Business Award honors businesses (profit or nonprofit) in the Greensboro area for their leadership, commitment and vision to provide outstanding support for the arts. The Arts include the performing arts (including music, theater and dance), literary art (including poetry fiction, playwriting, etc.) and visual arts (including sculpture, architecture, painting, etc.). The award is presented by the United Arts Council of Greater Greensboro, the Greensboro Merchants Association and the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce. The recipient is recognized at the Annual Small Business Awards Luncheon during the Piedmont Triad Business Showcase in May.
